Energy Ventures Announces Retirement of Robert Schwartz


HOUSTON
– Energy Ventures, an independent venture capital firm dedicated to funding high-growth upstream oil and gas technology companies, announced today that Robert (Bob) Schwartz, is retiring from his role as Vice President and Senior Advisor. 

Mr. Schwartz’s retirement follows six years with Energy Ventures. During this time, he played an integral role in establishing the company’s Houston office with partners Helge Tveit and Jim Sledzik. The office, which opened in late 2007, was thefirst of many steps contributing to the growth of Energy Ventures’ presence in the United States. 

“Bob has been a vital member of our team for many years and his industry knowledge has beeninvaluable to the firm and its portfolio companies,” said Jim Sledzik, partner and president of Energy Ventures Houston. “He will always be a part of the Energy Ventures family and we are grateful for all of his contributions.” 

Prior to joining Energy Ventures, Bob was President of HTC Energy, a component of the Houston Technology Center, a leading incubator of emerging energy technology companies. He also held executive positions with ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Weatherford, FMC Technologies and served as Director of the Entrepreneurship Concentration of the McCombs School at theUniversity of Texas at Austin. He holds an engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA from Harvard Business School. 

Bob intends to devote his time to working with private clients, serving on several boards, and devoting more time to his passion for photography.
